IMMERSION PROGRAMME WITH TERESA BERGANZA SCHOOL, MADRID, INDIA CHAPTER

A group of 13 students, along with the Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and a parent representative from Teresa Berganza School, Madrid, Spain visited RSJMS from 23.02.2016 to 27.02.2016

Sounds of ' Hola Amigos' and "Bienvenido' greeted them at the entrance and they were given a traditional welcome with garlands and 'tika'. An enthralling cultural programme that comprised of a beautiful Spanish prayer and song, a fusion of Kathak and Odissi dance performance, was presented by the students of RSJMS. The Spanish group too sang a song that they had composed about their visit to India, the previous year.

During their week long stay, the Spanish students along with their buddies from RSJMS attended many interactive and activity based classes in Hindi, Science, Math and Computers. They also participated in several sports and craft activities that were organised for them.  During the latter half of the day, they were taken for various excursions around Delhi - trips to Qutub Minar, Akshardham Temple, Gandhi Smriti and the Rashtrapati Bhavan along with a fun afternoon spent at a farmhouse, helped strengthen the bond amongst the students.

The concluding day of the visit was an eventful one and was graced by Mr Ashok Pratap Singh, President Board of Trustees Modern Schools and Ms Ambika Pant, Trustee, Modern Schools. To preserve the interesting artworks that were created through the joint efforts of the students of both schools, the paintings were given the shape of a calendar, which was released by Mr. Ashok Pratap Singh.

In keeping with the spirit of the exchange programme, students of both schools performed together. First they sang the popular Bollywood song 'Senorita' and then danced to the beats of 'Dhoom Machale Dhoom'. This was followed by Spanish dances performed by the Spanish group.

An elaborate multi cuisine lunch that included various Indian delicacies was the grand finale to the week long festivities of this year's exchange programme. Amidst exchange of gifts and teary eyed goodbyes the children of RSJMS bid their Spanish friends, farewell!
