THE WORLD RED CROSS DAY

A panel of experts from the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Society comprising Mr. Rajeev Sadana of ICRC Society, Ms. Vanshree Singh, Director, Blood Bank, IRCS, Dr. Kailash Raizada, Senior Advisor, IFRC Societies and Dr. Madhur Gupta, addressed the students of classes 4 and 5 on the occasion of World Red Cross Day, enlightening them about the functioning of the IRCS.

An interesting animation film was also screened enlisting the guiding principles that govern the working of the Society. Mr. Sadana educated the students about the Junior Red Cross (JRC) wing and motivated them to work for humanitarian causes.

Scarves and pens with the ‘JRC’ logo, as well as colourful booklets containing information about the society and its founder, were distributed among the students. The importance of ‘First Aid’ and methods of dispensing basic first aid were demonstrated wherein students were taught different techniques of tying bandages.

THE WORLD DANCE DAY

The World Dance Day was celebrated on 30th April 2014 in collaboration with SPIC MACAY. Renowned Kathak dancer and Padmashree awardee, Rani Karnaa, along with her disciple, Ms. Sohini Debnath, graced the occasion. The duo gave a lecture cum demonstration to the audience. The performance by Ms. Sohini Debnath and the information imparted by Guru Rani Karna were thoroughly enjoyed by the students and teachers alike.
