Independence Day Celebration 10th August, 2023
Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School commemorated the 76th anniversary of India's independence on 10th August, 2023.
The event began with the unfurling of the tricolour by the Chief Guest, Dr Shashi Tharoor, the acclaimed author, politician and former Under Secretary General of the United Nations.
The students of class 4 put up a montage of true stories of courage, valour and sacrifice called 'Maqsad' on this occasion. The presentation celebrated the might of the pen and its role in the freedom struggle. Directed, choreographed and scripted by the teachers themselves, it was an in-house production with a cast of 155 students!
In his address Dr. Tharoor urged the students, as future citizens of India, to work towards fulfilling the dream of the authors of Indian independence, and strive for unity, equality and success of democracy.
In her address, the Headmistress, Ms. Nalini Singh Rajput spoke about the responsibility that freedom brings with it and exhorted the students to work towards the betterment of the nation.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Ashok Pratap Singh, former President, Board of Trustees, Modern School, Ms. Ambika Pant, Secretary, Board of Trustees, Ms. Mira Pradeep Singh, Treasurer, Board of Trustees and Mr Ajay Verma, Chairman , Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School among several other distinguished guests.
The presentation by the students was well appreciated by everyone.
