We follow the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) and therefore adhere to the curriculum prescribed by the NCERT. At the same time we adapt to the needs of the children, keeping in mind the diversity of individual talent and aptitude. To begin with, teaching and learning process in the foundational years is designed to be child-friendly, engaging, and play-based, ensuring that everyone learns with joy and curiosity.
We believe that early learners thrive in an environment where learning happens naturally – through exploration, meaningful interaction.
The classrooms are vibrant spaces where children discover concepts through hands-on activities, stories, songs, games, and theatre.
In these Foundational years regular and continuous assessments are conducted to evaluate class room participation, projects, creative tasks, without any formal examinations.
At the primary stages (P3 -P5) a multilingual and inclusive approach is used to ensure comprehension and participation by all learners. Concepts across subjects are taught through thematic and integrated learning, linking environment, art, culture, and the local context.
For the holistic growth of every child, co-curricular activities play an essential role along with academics. RSJMS offers various activities like dance, music, art, clay modelling, chess and numerous sports.
