INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF THE CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS AT RSJMS
The Inaugural Ceremony for the Centenary Celebrations of Modern School, was held in the school premises on Monday, 21st October 2019. Shri Manish Sisodia, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Shri Ashok Pratap Singh, Senior Trustee and Former President, Board of Trustees and Ms. Anuradha Singh, Chairperson, RSJMS. Eminent Modernites and luminaries who were a part of this grandiose celebration were Justice Sanjay Kishen Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Mukul Mudgal, former Chief Justice of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana; Dr Navin Dang, Director of Dr Dang's Lab Pvt. Ltd.; Lt. Gen. Shankar Prasad, Lt. Gen Vijay Lall, Shri Bhajan Sopori, the famous santoor player, Mr Vishal Uppal, the ace tennis player. Mrs Lata Vaidyanathan and Mrs Goldy Malhotra, former Principals of Modern School Barakhamba Road and Modern School Vasant Vihar respectively; and Ms. Geeta Dudeja, former Headmistress of R S Junior Modern School were also present on this occasion.
After the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the Principal Ms. Manju Rajput addressed the august gathering and highlighted the glorious history of the school and commitment of every stakeholder towards building the future. To mark the occasion, a specially designed Centenary Logo was unveiled. In his address, Shri Ashok Pratap Singh spoke about Modern School's commitment towards nation building. The Chief Guest Shri Manish Sisodia hoisted the Centenary Flag in the front lawns of the school. A Formation Drill by students of the school won the hearts of the audience. The students made several formations, the most enchanting being the symbol '100' and the School Logo. The School Song- 'Balwaan Bano' was sung by the choir comprising of students, teachers, administrative and support staff. In his inspiring address, the Chief Guest, Mr. Manish Sisodia reiterated that the sentiments expressed in the School Song that lay emphasis on the ideal qualities of the head and the heart, distinctive of ethics and character, must be the core attribute in every child. He lauded the Founder's liberal views in creating an educational institution which was much ahead of its time then... 99 years ago.
