The RSJMS school magazine- Sandesh, is published twice a year. The spring issue is released in the month of March at the Valedictory Function and the autumn issue in the month of October /November. The magazine contains children’s work in the form of articles, poems, travelogues and artwork. It also carries interviews and reports of various cultural events and competitions held in the school. It is truly a window to the world of RSJMS. The Editorial Board is responsible for collecting and editing articles for the magazine. The students can either e-mail their articles on: firstname.lastname@example.org or insert them in the drop box.
Creative expression has always been encouraged at RSJMS. A painting competition is organized for all the classes of the school. The best paintings are judged by a panel of experts, headed by an acclaimed artist, and they feature in the School Calendar, for the following year.
THE MILK BREAK AND AFTER
A commemorative volume titled ‘The Milk Break and After’ was published to mark the historic occasion of the school’s Golden Jubilee in 2011. It was formally released by Dr Karan Singh during the grand finale of the celebrations, at a glorious function at the Siri Fort Auditorium, on 3rd November 2011. The book is replete with interesting historical facts which chart the growth of Modern School from its humble beginnings in the 1920s to the position of repute that it enjoys today. Sprinkled with anecdotes and memoirs by eminent alumni as well as some rare photographs, the book gives a comprehensive picture of life at RSJMS and a vision for the future.
The School Handbook
The School Handbook is issued every year, at the start of the academic session. The handbook contains the school’s vision, mission and a comprehensive guide to the school’s rules and regulations. It talks about the philosophy of the school behind nurturing a Modernite. It includes school services, examination schedule, activity and assembly planner. The handbook gives a detailed information about Code of Conduct at RSJMS and violations and consequence plans.
RSJMS School diary is an effective communication tool between the school and the parent. The school planner, holidays, punctuality/leave record of the child are comprehensively designed and put in the school diary. The school rules, RSJMS Code of Conduct are all found in the diary followed by daily school prayers. The diary also comprises of traffic light cards with a mini white board, to enhance learning outcomes in a classroom and making teaching-learning process interactive and efficient. The school diary, acting as a bridge between the school and the parent, enables the students to organize his/her activities and the parents to regularly keep up with their child’s school work.
