The House members made a presentation on ‘Makar Sankranti’, one of the major harvest festivals in India which coincides with the beginning of the sun’s northward movement, the Uttarayan. The students gave valuable information about the festival and how it is celebrated in various states of India.
In the subsequent Assembly, the members of the House put up a presentation on ‘Republic Day’ where the students gave an insight on how our constitution came into effect on 26th January, 1950. The highlight of the 69th Republic Day celebrations was that the Government of India had invited the Heads of State of all the ten ASEAN countries as guests of honour. The presentation was enhanced by the melodious rendition of patriotic songs and a well-choreographed dance.
The students of the House also took pride in celebrating the spirit of unity by sharing some important facts about Republic Day. The children also showcased a dance performance on the song ‘Suno gaur se duniyawalon’. The young members of the House too put up an informative presentation on the Flying Sikh, Milkha Singh and celebrated Lohri, through a meaningful assembly.
