JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS AT SAVITRI PRATAP BLOCK

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS AT SAVITRI PRATAP BLOCK

The Nursery and KG students celebrated Janmashtami, the festival marking the birth of Lord Krishna, on 11th September 2015 with great joy and fervour. The tiny tots performed a heart-warming ballet showcasing some of the most popular episodes from Sri Krishna’s life.  Accompanied by a choir, the ballet was a perfect blend of narration, dramatization, music and dance. As the narrators laid the background for Krishna’s birth on earth, the ballet began with people of Vrindavan celebrating the birth of baby Krishna. The subsequent scenes depicted little Krishna’s playful and mischievous side, his tantrums and heart-warming conversations with Mother Yashodhara as he steals ‘makkhan’ from the Gopikas  followed by a scene showcasing Krishna’s bravery as he overpowers the dreaded five-hooded serpent ‘Kaaliya’. The ballet ended with Rasa Lila, portraying Lord Krishna’s and Radha’s eternal love. The audience was left spellbound as the little presenters mesmerised everyone with their impressive performance.

The event organised as part of the 69th Independence Day celebration beautifully underscored the theme of keeping the country clean with a medley of small acts performed by the little ones. The children essayed their roles with elan and the message that each one counts was well understood. The finale to the programme came in the form of a song, sung by a group of teachers who spiritedly joined their students on stage.
